FAQs
Below are the most common questions asked before booking an appointment and getting started.
Who do we treat?
How do we treat?
I am here to provide you with the tools, resources, and skills needed to live a healthful life. I believe in a non-diet approach and an all-foods-fit nutrition philosophy and aim to help you reconnect with food in a way that promotes both your physical and emotional health.
Through the lens of the Intuitive Eating principles, I help clients reconnect with their internal cues of appetite regulation. These include hunger, fullness, satiety, and satisfaction. Often, our environment, family dynamics, and work schedules interrupt our ability to be attune and trust these cues. Reconnecting and learning to trust your body often takes time, exposure, and help. I am here to provide that guidance!
I practice using a Health at Every Size approach, where all bodies are welcome & deserve to be treated based on their relationship to food vs. their weight/size.
How do I know if I really need help?
If you have landed on this website from your own search then I am guessing that the available time you had today was spent thinking about food and body. This took your thoughts away from activities of daily living and instead you were distracted enough to look for some answers on why you feel like way about food and/or your body.
You deserve to discover a life where you are searching for more important things than how to fix your relationship with food. In order to get there, you have to get through this and I am here to help you.
If you were sent to this site by a therapist or a loved one then they notice your distraction and are concerned that your distracted thoughts are taking you away from more important things. They want you to let go of your worries and get to the good parts of life. They love you enough to ask you to seek help.
What is PCOS?
PCOS is an Endocrine Disorder that affects multiple body systems and can have many symptoms. At its core PCOS treatment is about creating balanced hormonal regulation through balanced eating. Usually PCOS can cause very strong carb and sugar cravings, causing you to believe that you are “out of control.” Binge-eating and restricting are common in women with PCOS when these cravings are so powerful. This is not your fault!
PCOS management begins by learning about how to be kind to yourself with this condition, and how to eat in a way that both fuels and nourishes you in a gentle way.
I think I have an eating disorder, how can you help me?

In sessions, we will work towards slowly re-establishing a trusting relationship with food, your body, and yourself.
Do you accept health Insurance?
At this time, RB Nutrition LLC is pending partnership with most major NJ insurance policies. In the meantime, you will be provided with a detailed Superbill which can be submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement of services.
Contact us at [email protected] if you have any further questions about this process!
What can I expect from my first visit?
Your first visit will begin with reviewing your medical forms, current food intake, health concerns, and talking about what your desired goals are.
We will work together to create a nutritional plan and follow-up appointments will track your progress from a medical, physical, and emotional perspective to ensure that the individually-tailored nutritional plan is working properly for you, and adjusting as needed.
This first visit usually lasts about 60 minutes.
Do you coordinate with other healthcare providers I am seeing?
Yes! In order to provide the most comprehensive care possible to our clients, we often communicate directly with your doctor, speciality doctors, therapist and family members of your choice.
What is the difference between a Registered Dietitian and a nutritionist?
An RDN has received specialized training and license to give you personalized nutrition advice regarding disease or condition management, meal planning, cooking, wellness, and eating behaviors. An RDN has a degree in a health-related field, completes a dietetic internship with over 1200 hours of supervised practice, and passes a Board Qualifying Exam from the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Registered Dietitians are healthcare providers who have undergone intensive training and education in order to provide nutrition services to individuals who are looking for preventative nutrition counseling or medical nutrition therapy.
In order to become an RD, an individual must have:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college;
Completed an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program. These programs are typically about 12 months long;
Passed the exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR);
Regularly complete continuing professional educational requirements.
A nutritionist, or nutritionist counselor, is not a regulated term and the certificate programs that provide these certifications are not subject to regulatory oversight.
The licensure requirements for Registered Dietitians are more rigorous than certificate programs and enforce stricter standards when it comes to ethics, clinical practice, professional liability, education, and supervised training.
